Student Loans
You can ONLY remove negative student loan information off your credit report. It is impossible to get a student loan that is defaulted or paid on-time off your credit report.

Reasons to remove student loans
✔ Removal of a student loan that does not belong to you.
✔ Correction of late payments reported in error.
✔ Negative information reported on your student loan while it’s in deferment or forbearance.
✔ Correction of default status that’s reported in error.
There are Two Types of Student Loans Private and Government Student Loans
Student loans from private lenders are treated the same way as a creditor/collection account, so you would dispute the private loan company.
When it comes to student loans from the government, you can always dispute the negative item on your credit report. However, because you owe money to the government, you are still responsible for paying off the debt.

Government Funded Student Loans
The government funded student loan dispute process is the same as disputing items with the Credit Bureaus. Reference Round One-Three for step by step.
The only DIFFERENCE is, instead of sending the Credit Bureau Dispute Letter 1, you will be sending the Student Loan Dispute Letter.

Private Funded Student Loans
The privately funded student loan dispute process is the same as disputing items with the creditor and collection agencies. Reference round four for step by step.
The only DIFFERENCE is, instead of sending the Furnisher Dispute Letter 1, you will be sending the Student Loan Dispute Letter.

Suffering from Economic Hardship?
If you have a government funded student loan, if you qualify for a deferment and/or forbearance, you may be able to suspend your payments during that time all you have to do is apply to your lender.
